Place has gone DOWN HILL. Can't even buy laundry detergent because it's locked in a case. Went to get a storage bin, and they are all stocked on the top shelf 15ft in the air. Can't find anyone to help. I'm done. Driving to a FM further away from now on.

Nice store, clean and tidy and well stocked. For the Seattle area I feel like FM has the most spacious aisles overall from store to store. Now the location is a little sketchy but not dangerous during the daytime. I guess it's just a operating liability for major metropolitan areas with corporate retailers but I'm used to Boise Idaho where there's plenty of space, not so many people , and a police force that is still allowed to fightcrime. But I would make this store my regular food shopping spot cuz I feel like they are doing all that they can to make it safe and sane for thier patrons.

There is absolutely no reason it should take 17 minutes to check out with your cashier Cody, especially considering I was the second person in line.

He spent more time attending to himself, fidgeting with his gloves (that he touched both money & my food with, thank goodness it gets washed at home), taking off his sweater and folding it neatly, taking off & putting on his bracelet, etc.

I understand staffing is difficult, but maybe give people jobs they can excel at and finding better fits for open positions. Or idk, pay them a live able wage so they give a hoot about what they do

I went there the other night and there were about 5 people that brought their dogs in the store. 2 even growled and barked at each other by the checkout. One person looked homeless and was washing their dog using the drinking fountain. I even saw an employee walk by and they didnt say anything. I looked this up and in Washington state this is illegal, only service animals are allowed in a place that sells food. I hope Fred Meyer decides to start following the law and denies any animals in the store that are not service animals. Until then the food sold there is potentially not safe, especially to those that are allergic and there is a chance you could be bit

-- cafe closed until further notice, seating area remains open
-- WiFi doesn't work: can't log on at all. Very bad!
-- bakery is really bad, sorry to say that: just a few bad muffins, all heavily processed stuff, no artisanal bread, no good muffins, doughnuts or rolls
+ friendly, helpful staff
+ smallish prepared food section with 2 or 3 soups daily. Tasty sandwiches and wraps
+ large fresh fruit and veggie section
+ show department carries wide sizes as well
+ self check out works fine; lady is super friendly
++ kids play area for small kids while parents shop
+ they have 2 or 3 special shopping carts, one black police-themed and a red fire truck one. Parents know how much kids can be looking forward to riding on these special shopping carts
+ soups have calorie values posted
+/- seating area seems to attract some weathered folks with huge bag packs and multiple duffel bags
